Neil Sedaka幼年曾受過8年古典鋼琴的訓練，畢業於紐約著名的茱麗亞音樂學院，
擁有非凡的作曲才華。1958年Neil與他長期合作的作曲家Howard Greenfild寫了
兩首歌"Stupid Cupid"及"Folling"，其作曲的才華被RCA賞識，立刻拉入旗下，
而"Stupid Cupid"及"Folling"也成為1958年Connie Francis的暢銷曲。
六十年代美國樂壇有兩位流行寵兒：Connie Francis（康妮法蘭西絲）、Brenda Lee
（布蘭達李）。在六十年代初期，每年榜單上女歌手的前兩名，都是這兩位。
康妮法蘭西絲，可說是流行樂史上最早的排行女神，迄今則擁有35首top40，全部
集中在1958到1965年，像是"Who's Sorry Now?"、 "Stupid Cupid"、
"Everybody's Somebody's Fool"，時至今日，還是不斷被翻唱。或許因為
也是來自義大利裔的家族，康妮法蘭西絲年輕時的照片，跟瑪丹娜極為神似；
除去暢銷曲，真正讓她成為音樂史上不可抹滅的傳奇，竟是她從歌壇淡出後發生的慘劇。
而布蘭達李是美國音樂史上最成功的少女歌手，十三歲便開始灌唱片的小布蘭達，
從1960年 "I Want To Be Wanted"到1967年"Jingle Bell Rock"，布蘭達李
短短八年就累積29首top40單曲，跟三十年後的LeAnn Rimes一樣。
Mandy Moore 14歲出道以來，就以清新的面孔與歌聲，被各界看好，是當今樂壇可以
與Britney Spears相提併論的女歌手之一。多才多藝的Mandy一方面擁有甜美的外貌，
還是個多棲藝人。除了曾在MTV台主持節目「Mandy」外，她還被「Runaway Bride」
導演挑中，在迪士尼電影「The Princess Diaries」飾演一角。而這首Stupid Cupid
就是片中Mandy所演唱的插曲。
